The foundation Managers without Borders (managerohnegrenzen) is a non-profit organization that has been completing service projects since 2005 and has been a charitable foundation since 2009. Managers without Borders have supported over 500 projects in more than 40 countries, working with over 150 managers. Our work is interdenominational, politically neutral and serves the common good. The founder Helene Prölß, a graduate in business administration, leads the foundation’s work according to its inherent purpose.

What we effectuate

“As soon as there is a strong middle class in Africa, we need not worry about school and other projects. The entrepreneurs will do that themselves.”
Entrepreneur in Ghana

To this end, we promote local development work with entrepreneurial and management knowledge and provide sustainable support on all continents. The cooperation between the delegated experts (high potentials) as “Managers without Borders” and the local partners leads to the continuation of projects stemming from their resources. The aspect of sustainability is essential for us – we promote a stable middle-class movement and no dependencies! We have developed our social impact rating system with clear eligibility criteria to assist us in this process.

Our „Aid“ is different

We offer extensive, concrete and direct aid both locally and worldwide. In addition, we offer support for the economically independent development of projects through the transfer of knowledge.

By the term “project” we mean anything that can be promoted in this sense. For example it could be trade, production, training, social services, business start-up initiatives or agriculture and forestry. We seek to build a bridge between the economy and the development assistance. As well as close the existing gap between governmental aid and small initiative/NGOs at the grassroots level. Through us, traditional development assistance becomes sustainable and effective. Managers who have applied are sent to the project location in coordination with the national partner to assist in an intensely organized project for a defined period of time. They act primarily as consultants or trainers. The goal is a mutually beneficial experience for everyone involved.
